Sistemas Dinâmicos e Biologia

UPDATE — Mensagem da secretaria da PGMAT:

Caros,

Two short courses on Dynamical Systems and Applications to Biology and Natural Sciences

Prof. Abderrahman Iggidr (INRIA/Université de Lorraine)

I. An invitation to observer theory (8 hrs) – 16/03 – 19/03

Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu  – 11:00 — 13:00

Dynamical systems are ubiquitously used in modelling applications. However, even if all parameters of the model are known, the full state of the system is not known. Observers are auxiliary dynamical systems that allow to provide an estimate the full state based on partial information. This will be a first, but rather complete, introduction to the problem of observation and construction of observers.

II. A hitchhiker guide to monotone dynamical systems (8 hrs) – 23/03 -26/03

Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu — 11:00 — 13:00

Monotone dynamical systems are usually defined on ordered  Banach spaces and their flow  respect this (partial) order. These systems appear in many applications in biology and economics and their special properties allow, in many cases, further analysis and characterisation of dynamical properties of their flow. This course will be a self-contained introduction to this beautiful and useful branch of dynamical systems.
